Gender Aspects of Labour Mobility
The aim of this paper is to compare the willingness, on the part of future graduates in economy, to commute to companies in the Region of Ústí nad Labem. The national and regional CSO data are compared in the introduction. Then we present the results of a survey from April 2013, concerning the readiness of university graduates to commute (men and women) and experience of companies in the Ústí Region and also students’ readiness to accept another job outside that related to their qualifications. The research reveals a higher level of willingness to commute on the part of men than that of women. With respect to relocation for work purposes within the Czech Republic reveals a much smaller difference between them. Women are more willing to relocate for work than men. In both groups of students, the least percentage is revealed in those, who are not willing to seek work outside home. Concerning the willingness to accept a job, diverging from their qualification, men are more ambitious than women. A median test with regard to mobility didn’t reveal any distinction in experience of companies and ideas of students (ladies or men). In the second case, with regard to the willingness to accept a job outside the qualifications, the median test revealed a statistically significant difference in experience on the part of companies as well as ideas of both groups of graduate students.
