This paper is focused on the evaluation of approaches to quality control in the process of purchasing in two selected manufacturing enterprises (textile engineering and automotive industry). The output paper is to assess the current situation of these enterprises and outline possibilities for future development. Between the compared enterprises there is a fundamental difference in development of vendor evaluation and vendor partnership. Automotive industry company has higher quality requirements of the overall process, unlike the textile company with its vendor so strong claims cannot be applied. Textile company vendors of cotton are from outside the EU and it is very difficult to secure at least the first level of quality and production requirements of quality. It can be assumed that in the future will unify performance requirements of both sectors.
